SUZUKI MARINE USA MAKES BIG SPLASH AT THE 2025 MIAMI INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW

Suzuki Celebrates 60th Anniversary, Launches Most Valuable Lineup, Names CLEAN OCEAN PROJECT Ambassador and More During World’s Largest Boat Show

Suzuki Marine USA is pulling out all the stops at today’s 2025 Miami International Boat Show, promoting the brand and unveiling new initiatives to boating press, industry representatives and boating enthusiasts from around the world.

Suzuki always makes a big splash at the world’s largest boat show, but this year was particularly special as it marks Suzuki’s 60th Anniversary in the outboard motor business.   It was back in 1965 that Suzuki’s first outboard — a 5.5 horsepower

2-stroke portable — became available on the market.   In honor of this occasion, Suzuki introduced a “throwback” version of its current 6 horsepower 4-stroke portable outboard with graphics and colors that match its very first model.  Suzuki will give away six of these “retro” outboards throughout 2025, through a special contest for people who follow Suzuki Marine on social media.

During an opening day press conference, Suzuki Marine reflected on the success of the past year and how it sustained growth over 2024 despite an array of market challenges by focusing on giving customers what they want.  “Our expanding Stealth Line helped power sales growth over the past year and proves just how much can be gained by listening to our dealers and customers,” said Brandon Cerka, Suzuki Marine General Manager Sales and Marketing.  “What they told us is that they want reliable, fuel-efficient power for their boats, but also something that looks sleek, aggressive, and stylish and sets them apart from crowd.   Delivering on this has helped us experience solid growth during a down market,” added Cerka.

Based on this success, Suzuki introduced its 2025 Most Valuable Lineup (MVL) concept at the show, showcasing attractive new graphics and exterior design that deliver a clear message — these outboards look as impressive as they perform.  This new MVL look will first be seen on the Suzuki’s popular V6 lineup, with models ranging from 200 to 350 horsepower covering a variety of fresh and saltwater vessels ranging from performance pontoons and deckboats to bay boats, center console skiffs and offshore fishing machines.   While boaters nationwide will first see Suzuki’s new MVL graphics on these V6 models, Suzuki plans to expand it across other horsepower models in the future.

A clean and bold look with a touch of luxury is only the surface of Suzuki’s MVL lineup, however.  Suzuki outboards have a proven track record of technology and innovation dating to the first NMMA Innovation Award ever presented back in 1987.   In fact, the company has won nine Innovation Awards for outboard motors over the years, for models ranging from portable 25 horsepower engines to the company’s current flagship DF350 V6.

Along the way, Suzuki introduced many firsts to the boating industry, including the first Fuel Injection System on 4-stroke outboards, the first 250 horsepower 4-stroke on the market, the first 300 horsepower 4-stroke on the market, and the first outboard of any size (the Award-Winning DF350) that delivers all the performance benefits and increased efficiency of dual contra-rotating propellers in forward and reverse.

“From top to bottom, our lineup is literally like an All-Star Team of outboard motors.  This new MVL Look is like a new uniform for that team — providing a clean, streamlined look that brings a touch of distinction and luxury to any type of boat in fresh or saltwater,” added Cerka.

Suzuki’s global CLEAN OCEAN PROJECT continues to be a major focus for the company; in keeping with this Suzuki Marine introduced its first Suzuki Marine USA CLEAN OCEAN PROJECT Ambassador, Capt. Don Dingman.  In addition to being an avid angler and conservationist, Dingman’s non-profit organization Hook the Future focuses on fostering a passion for boating and fishing with tomorrow’s generation.

“Through his popular television show, educational workshops and kid’s fishing events, Don is dedicated to creating a new generation of youth who appreciate nature, respect our environment and most importantly, have a passion for the Great Outdoors.  We are looking forward to working with Don and supporting his efforts in the coming year,” added Cerka.

Suzuki Marine also announced a new program to support CLEAN OCEAN PROJECT where all U.S. customers purchasing new Suzuki 115 or 140 horsepower outboards — models outfitted with Suzuki’s exclusive Micro Plastics Collecting Device — will receive a custom crafted CLEAN OCEAN PROJECT bracelet fashioned from recycled materials.

The most ambitious announcement for CLEAN OCEAN PROJECT, however, was Suzuki’s plans for a worldwide, coordinated Ocean For Tomorrow: Universal Clean-Up day on July 12, 2025.  On this day, Suzuki, all its distributors and subsidiaries around the world will work together with local organizations and communities for a massive clean-up event.  Through this, Suzuki will be making a positive impact all around the planet.

Suzuki Marine also added an important new wrinkle to its press activities in Miami by becoming the title sponsor of the Boating Writers International (BWI) Awards Breakfast.  This much-anticipated annual event recognizes the best in boating and fishing journalism and photography over the past year.  Suzuki Marine has sponsored the Fishing Category Award for more than 25 years and is now sponsoring the entire breakfast that hosts more than 100 writers, media, and representatives from across the industry.

“This show is vital for our business, which is why we get involved in so many ways,” said Cerka.  “Miami is not only important for generating immediate sales, but it also helps set the tone for the entire year to come.    It’s clear that the tone we’re setting in 2025 is that we’re moving full steam ahead to grow our business even more, while supporting the environment, sharing our passion for boating, and supporting the industry as a whole,” he added.
